This has been a big week at Rally Beans. It’s mostly been about the paperwork that makes us a legitimate business, but there have also been some fun brainstorming sessions to finalize mission, values and marketing elements, as well as our first receipt of packaging materials. I know paper bags might not sound all that exciting to you, but I was pretty pumped when I saw that semi trailer pull up in front of my house – it feels like we’re finally the real deal!
Our first delivery of packaging materials!
This wild ride started as just a few conversations last spring, about going into business for ourselves. As the year went on, Jaye and I kept coming back to it – building a business that would fill our souls. We wanted to end each day knowing we’d had a positive impact on our families and business partners. But what would that business look like? Ultimately, we knew we wanted to use our talents, experience and connections to help build communities, while strengthening our own families.
We landed on fundraising as a business model that would fulfill all of those requirements. I personally am so excited about the opportunity to build communities of support for small groups & organizations all across the region on a daily basis. But I am even more excited that our business model will allow us to strengthen our families, as well – we can be there for all the kids’ important moments, and we can include our families in the excitement of helping others succeed. Those paper bags we received yesterday? They need to be stamped with our logo, and Cole is chomping at the bit to get going on it. He has also been reviewing our website and pricing structure – I am so thrilled that he is excited to be a part of this! Now that we have most of the drudgery of compliance and paperwork completed, we’ll spend the next 2 weeks finalizing more of our marketing materials, and kicking off our first campaign. We’re almost ready for go time!
